we rolled into mesquite, nv and slept for two hours, then had to check in at 5am at lake mead. crazy - we got no sleep this weekend.
This is just after my first run. It was at 630am and mostly uphill. I was near the back with all the slow pokes. I kept turning around and looking at the beautiful sunrise/scenery. I could care less about running fast! Lake Mead was the start line and it was GORGEOUS.
These are the girls. we became good friends and cheered each other on.
i accidentally got a real tattoo. it is of the ragnar logo! Oops i did it again.
the dramatic handoff. lauren passes to james. james look ready in his bright pink hat.
this was after my second run. it was mid-day and i was so thirsty and hot. i would have rather died than do that run again. but i finished! wahoo!
this is james changing into his running clothes. he had a run that was pretty late.
i thought we'd never see the finish line! hooray! joy is the only word i can think of to describe this moment. pure joy.
medals that we all received. cute, huh?
the 6 of us.
the girls
the boys
we stayed in the Aria hotel in las vegas after the race. beautiful rooms. when james opened the hotel room for the first time, the lights went on, the curtains opened and the tv turned on and started playing jazz music. what a presentation! we loved the hotel.
all in all, i probably wont do a ragnar race again. it was a great once in a lifetime. i may do other smaller relay races though!
i love you all!

Tell us what really happened to James and why he had to change his shorts. Did he pee a little? ahhaha. And I love your new sporty tattoo. You two are much braver than me in running all. night. long. I shudder thinking about attempting one of those.
ReplyDeleteThank you Blondie.
